Ragnarok Violet - FAQs - Violet Quests? Who Do I Give My First Violet To?

Please click on the title above^ and scroll down to the bottom of the page to post comments on this article.  Contributors will be acknowledged and their names will be displayed on the "Acknowledgments" page.  Thank you!

Which one works best for you?  Which reward will eventually help you in the post-Dark Lord realm?
That is all up to you.

Karen, Lily or Tristan?  Which quest should I complete first?
What will they reward me with?  Wondering which one is best?
To better understand these questions, let's discuss each quest individually.

Violet [Karen] Quest  (Reward = 7 stat points)
Karen will give you 7 points which can help boost your character's stats.  In my opinion, this is a good option…unless you haven’t mastered the skills that you need yet and/or you’re a shield fanatic.  The more stats you get, the better your character will be.

Violet [Lily] Quest  (Reward = 3 skill points)
Lily will reward you with 3 skill points which can be used to improve your skills to help grind your way to Level 99.  If you haven’t mastered some essential skills, then this is the better choice for you.  Mastering skills is necessary before putting more stat points on your selected attribute to help you fair against the overpowering monsters in the post-Dark Lord era.

Violet [Tristan] Quest  (Reward = Mjolnir (ATK 253, STR 10, VIT 10)
Last but certainly not least, King Tristan III will reward you with Mjolnir — a very powerful one-handed weapon with an attack power of 253 and additional 10 bonus points on both strength and vitality (ATK253
STR+10  VIT+10).  If you like one-handed weapons, then Mjolnir is a practical option.  This weapon will greatly increase your attack damage and will help you kill monsters faster resulting in quicker level ups.

DISCUSSION

Remember, your choice will depend on which option would generally be helpful to you in the post-Dark Lord era.  You don’t need to worry if you got the wrong one because you can still get the other two Violet quest rewards by making more Violets.  The only catch is that you will need more time to collect the ingredients and make the requirements.

The order of what quest you complete first is fairly subjective.  It all depends on you and your priorities.
This article is only a guide and does not, in any way, compel you to choose on option over the other.  It only aims to give you a better understanding of the advantages of each reward.  Which option works best for you is the best choice!

Ragnarok Violet - FAQs - Where To Get The Weapon Recipes?

Please click on the title above^ and scroll down to the bottom of the page to post comments on this article.  Contributors will be acknowledged and their names will be displayed on the "Acknowledgments" page.  Thank you!

(This article is still under construction.  It is posted prematurely due to one of our reader's request. Cheers!)

Earth, Typhoon, Ocean, Volcano & Odin Recipes...
These recipes are needed in order to make "Violet" — the godly item that can resurrect the dead.  Karen wants it to bring back his little brother.  Lily needs it to bring back his dad, Zet.  Tristan (allegedly) needs it to protect the Kingdom of Midgartz.  We gamers on the other hand need it for a far greater purpose... To get more bonuses!  Hahaha.  /swt

Seriously, if you need to find a certain set of recipes, please read on.

Earth Weapon Recipes
This recipe can be acquired by completing the "Mushroom" quest which can be done early in the game.  Go to the NPC at South of Prontera.  Apparently, he was poisoned so you need to get him the antidote found inside the Cave of Mushroom.  He will reward you for saving his life by giving you the Earth Weapon Recipes.

Ocean Weapon Recipes
This recipe can be obtained by finishing the "Forgotten Cave" quest at the South of Desert map.  On your way to Morroc from the Kafra Branch, you will meet a Librarian NPC.  He will DEMAND (I kinda got annoyed by his bossy attitude) you to get a book for him in the name of the king.  Simply get it from the cave nearby and return to the officious librarian.  He will reward you with the recipes and let you pass. /pif

Typhoon Weapon Recipes
You can get this recipe by doing the "Sneak" quest.  After you defeat Ifrit, you will be told to go back to Prontera and report Imad's evil plot, which you discovered, to the king.  After that, you can go the Catholic Church and talk to the knight on the upper left corner.  He will ask you to kill a number of Great Whispers.  When you complete the quest, he will reward your efforts with the Typhoon Weapon Recipes.

Volcano Weapon Recipes
The Volcano Weapon Recipes can be gained after you succeed in the "Wind Trial"quest (for Paladins)
and "???" quest (for Lord Knights)The caves are found East of Niflheim Valley and Niflheim Valley, respectively.

Odin Weapon Recipes
The last set of the Weapon Recipes are gained by going inside the Ancient Mage cave located in the Deep Place of Mjolnir map right before you fight Valkyrie.

Freak Tips!
IMHO, you don't really need to make the weapons early in the game.  It will just use up the limited space that you have in your inventory.  The Odin Recipes are crazy hard to complete so I suggest making the weapons later in the game right before or after you defeat Dark Lord.  This way you don't get bored while you grind your way to Lv80 or higher.

Ragnarok Violet - FAQs - Where & How To Make Elemental Weapons?

Please click on the title above^ and scroll down to the bottom of the page to post comments on this article.  Contributors will be acknowledged and their names will be displayed on the "Acknowledgments" page.  Thank you!

Elements in Ragnarok Violet are very simple compared to its older sibling, Ragnarok Online.  In Ragnarok Violet, there are only four elements namely Fire, Water, Wind and Earth.  These properties (a.k.a. attributes) can strengthen or weaken attacks depending on the player and the monster's element.

To put it simply...
Fire is weak against Water.
Water is weak against Wind.
Wind is weak against Earth.
Earth is weak against Fire.

Fire < Water < Wind < Earth

Alternatively, you can use the mnemonic, FiWaWiE (pronounced similarly to the popular sports car, "Ferrari").  Hahaha.

With this in mind, let's move on to the main question...
How and where do we make weapons elemental?

In Ragnarok Violet, the first thing that you should do to make elemental weapons is to obtain cards of the chosen element.  The four cards below are what you will need.

Dordor Card = Wind Attribute
Gram Card = Water Attribute
Ultra Card = Earth Attribute
Hell Keeper Card = Fire Attribute

Once you collect the card/s, head to the Payon Smithy.
The blacksmith there will insert the card for you free of charge. ^_~
Just remember though, once you insert the card you can not remove it unless you buy a "Card Extractor" for $1.99 in the Shop.  Honestly, you are better off making your elemental cards using card recipes than using your money.  Save your money for other useful items and leave the "card-extracting" for the boss cards.

Ragnarok Violet - FAQs - Where & How To Find Upgrade Items?

Please click on the title above^ and scroll down to the bottom of the page to post comments on this article.  Contributors will be acknowledged and their names will be displayed on the "Acknowledgments" page.  Thank you!

Sorry guys.  This was in my drafts for a very long time.  I have lots of other unfinished articles which I can't seem to complete.  I'm getting too occupied with my other activities.  /sry

Phracons, Emveretarcons, Eluniums and Oridecons...
If you want to enhance your weapons, armor and other equipment, you will need to acquire these upgrade items more than anything else.  They have the power to increase your weapon's damage or increase your armor's defense which could help you a lot as you grind your way to Level 99.  /gg
The corresponding uses of each item and their sources are listed in the table below.

ITEM UPGRADES SOURCE

Phracon Weapons (Level 1) Sold in every Town's General Store for 2500 zeny
Emveretarcon Weapons (Level 2) Sold in every Town's General Store for 3500 zeny
Oridecon Weapons (Level 3) Monster Drop
Elunium All Types of Armor Monster Drop

As you can see, the phracons and emveretarcons are the easiest to acquire.  Eluniums and oridecons, on the other hand, are harder to collect.  They are the most important since they enhance armors and higher level weapons.

Eluniums and oridecons are rare... So how do you collect them?
First and foremost, in order to increase the drop rate, we will have to tame a Goblin, Panzer Goblin or Goblin Leader and increase their skill levels to improve the drop rates even further.  Finally, we have to know where to farm for them.

It is common knowledge that all monsters drop eluniums and oridecons.  The secret lies in the monster spawn rate in a certain location.  By this, I mean that we have to find a spot with the most monsters that will respawn the quickest.  In my experience, Level 6 of the Prontera's Underground Waterways is quite a good spot.  It has a good number of mummies (together with Pus Mummy) and the spawn rate is high.  I farm my Eluniums and Oridecons here.

Please remember that I am not saying that this area is "the best".  It's just the location that I prefer the most.  I am luckier here than any other place.  I hit the boxes and voila!  I get eluniums or oridecons!  That's why I love it here. /heh

You may have a different lucky spot so try to find it! /no1
And if you do, please don't forget to share it with us!

Lastly, below is a list of other monsters that have given me elus and oris.  Remember, all monsters drop upgrade items.  This is only a personal list which I hope could guide anyone there having a tough time.

Oridecons Eluniums
Goblin Zombie
Iron Golem Gargoyle
Mummy Dordor
Ragged Mummy Siroma
Small Crab Pungsan Dog
Siroma Great Whisper
Great Whisper Ancient Mummy
Poporing Poring
Skeggiold Ghoul

Spore

Ragnarok Violet - FAQs - How Many Total Skill Points & Stat Points? And How To Get Bonuses?

Please click on the title above^ and scroll down to the bottom of the page to post comments on this article.  Contributors will be acknowledged and their names will be displayed on the "Acknowledgments" page.  Thank you!

Hi everyone! =)
Want to get some additional skill and stat points to make your character stronger?  Who doesn't right?!

All of us wonder how many stat points and skill points can Clide possibly have in total.  To answer this question, I have made two simple tables below.  Also, I have listed some, if not all, of the ways on how you can get some bonus stat points and skill points.  I'm not quite sure if it's complete though so if you have any additional info, please do post your comments below.  Cheers mates! /no1

Skill Points
49 Total Skill Points earned at Lv99
2 Collect All Cards Quest
1 Shrine of Light Quest
3 Violet [Lily] Quest
55 TOTAL

Stat Points
196 Total Stat Points earned at Lv 99
24 @ beginning (Violet Knights HQ)
4 Collect All Recipes Quest
2 Shrine of Training Quest
7 Violet [Karen] Quest
233 TOTAL

The "Collection Quests" are given by the NPCs found at the Kafra Branch.  You have to collect all the cards or recipes before they reward you with the bonus stat or skill points.  Remember, these quests are optional and are not counted in the record for Quests Completed %.

The "Shrine Quests" are a bit harder to get but with good strategy and patience, you can reach the treasure chest that contains the bonuses.  By the way, the chests are located at Level 4 of their corresponding caves.  As you go deeper each level, the monsters will get stronger.  Please note that you do not need to kill all monsters in your path to get the bonus points.

The "Violet Quests" are a lot harder.  You need to collect the ingredients first which will take a lot of time.  There is an easier way but you need to spend some money.  That way is to buy your pet the Angel Heart Pet Hat which costs $0.99 to help you collect ingredients faster.

Ragnarok Violet - FAQs - Why Not Defeat Dark Lord?

Please click on the title above^ and scroll down to the bottom of the page to post comments on this article.  Contributors will be acknowledged and their names will be displayed on the "Acknowledgments" page.  Thank you!

Why shouldn't you defeat Dark Lord? And why should you beat him?
Let me get straight to the point.  There are several reasons why you should NOT defeat Dark Lord.
  1. All monsters in the post-Dark Lord realm will be 54 levels higher. This means that your Lv1 Poring at the exit south of Prontera will now be Lv55!  Think about getting owned by a Poring!
  2. All monsters will have elements.  Aside from higher monster levels, you will be switching weapons a lot more often in the post-DL era because each screen in the map will have a different element.
  3. It will be harder to collect ingredients for the recipes.  This is, arguably, the main reason why not to defeat Dark Lord.  If you want to complete the game 100%, then it is wiser to collect all the necessary items like herbs, gems, cards, oridecons, eluniums, etc. before you defeat Dark Lord.  That's because the drops will be randomized and the monsters will also be harder to kill.
  4. You might not want to reach level 99 after you defeat Dark Lord.  Why?  Because it's hard to collect the ingredients for the recipes and you may get bored grinding for experience in the post-DL world with average weapons & equipment that are not card-enhanced or upgraded to their fullest potential.  On the contrary, you can still do so if you like the thrill.

Why beat Dark Lord? (My apologies. I will answer the "How To Defeat Dark Lord?" question in another post.)  Beating the last boss, isn't all that bad.  There are also good reasons why you should defeat the Dark Lord.
  1. Level ups are faster.  Certainly not easier...but with the right strategy, you can be reaching Lv99 faster than grinding in the pre-Dark Lord era.
  2. Better equipments are dropped.  Obviously, as the level of the monster you kill gets higher, the equipment drops will be better.  The only possible down-side is that if the drops will be randomized.  How will we know which monsters will drop what weapons or equipment?

With all that said,  don't worry guys.  Hopefully, I will do more research on the post-Dark Lord realm.  I still need to complete two sets of the Odin weapons for my other two character builds.  The first one got saved in the post-Dark Lord era and it is so damn hard for that build (AGI STR LUK) to farm for items. /desp

P.S.
Guys, before I forget.  If you have any comments or anything to add to this list, please post your comments below.  I have only listed what I have observed and there may be more that I didn't notice.  Thanks!  Have fun everyone!  /no1

Ragna Freak Updated - Ragnarok Violet Guides (September 2011)

Please click on the title above^ and scroll down to the bottom of the page to post comments on this article.  Contributors will be acknowledged and their names will be displayed on the "Acknowledgments" page.  Thank you!

Dear Friends,

As you may all know, there was an update on the Ragnarok Violet app that fixed the red herb drop problem.  (No wonder why it was so hard to find 'em! Grrrr....)  Furthermore, the herb and some gem drops were corrected.  Because of this, I did some research and roamed around the Kingdom of Rune Midgartz once again.  Oh, I'm using the spelling with a "Z" because it looks cooler.  The game is very inconsistent at the moment.  The translations are wrong.  The grammars are incorrect.  Sometimes it's Midgarts.  Sometimes Midgartz.  (Shouldn't it be Midgard anyway?! Hahaha.)  Anyhow, just bear with it everyone.  Gravity will resolve everything in the future...hopefully.  /heh

By the way, I have very good news!  Finally, I finished the game!  I wasn't happy when I defeated the Dark Lord though.  I shouldn't have saved my game after defeating him. /swt

A lot of things changed.  All monsters now have their elements and they got way stronger than their pre-Dark Lord counterparts.  Fifty-four (54) levels to be exact!  The drops were reshuffled and got more confusing.  I think they randomized everything.  That means I will have to do more research on the post-Dark Lord realm

Lastly, I have updated most of the articles in this blog and added another article on the Lord Knight & Paladin skills.  Thanks to everyone's help, we have completed a workable database that all Ragnarok Violet players can use as a reference.  My deepest thanks to all our friends who have made it all possible. /no1

Ragnarok Violet - Skills List / Guide / Database

Please click on the title above^ and scroll down to the bottom of the page to post comments on this article.  Contributors will be acknowledged and their names will be displayed on the "Acknowledgments" page.  Thank you!

Finally!  The Skills Tree & Table is done!  (Or at least "nearly".  Hehehe.)  I know everyone has been waiting for this (including me).  Sorry guys! /sry

Skills in Ragnarok Violet are divided into two kinds — passive and active.  Passive Skills are those that automatically come into effect without activating them.  They do not cost SP.  In contrast, Active Skills need SP to execute.  Although there are many active skills, we are limited to using four (4) at a time because there are only four (4) quick slots in the game at present.  Frankly, I hope Gravity will improve this in the near future.  I need more slots for my food, potions & skills to create a more exciting game! (Damn, I miss my FS priest.) /sob

Further to the skill classifications mentioned above, each class has unique active skills.  In the beginning, everyone starts out as a swordsman.  Once you get to Lv25 you can change class.   You can choose either Knight or Crusader and you will gain access to more skills.  When you reach Lv40, a Knight can become a Lord Knight and a Crusader can be a Paladin.

The Knight / Lord Knight, a strong close combat character who masters the art of the blade, is skilled in wielding two-handed weapons.  This means that most of the Knight's skills are favorable for two-handed weapon users, although shields can also be equipped.

The Crusader / Paladin, on the other hand, is a well-balanced character who uses shields to maximize defense while sacrificing a modest amount of attack power.  Their skills focus on the use of shields.

In the skill tree and table below, you can see the different skills that each character can learn.  I have chosen to separate them so everyone can compare the two classes.  I hope it's clear for everyone.  Please post your suggestions if any.  Thanks! /no1

As I've promised, I made a map for the Kingdom of Rune Midgartz.  I apologize for the late post.  I had been very busy lately with all my other activities so please bear with me.

Anyways, I sincerely hope this map, albeit simple, will help all Ragnarok Violet players.  I know how it feels to play without a map so this is for everyone out there who needs it.  I will update the missing details as soon as possible. Enjoy!
